Nahuala Girl's Morga --- Two-panel foot-loomed indigo girl-sized morga (skirt) with hand-embroidered randrlsa holding the panels together. Worn by Mayan women in Nahuala, Guatemala the finally woven cotton skirt was probably woven in Nahuala or a neighboring town. I bought the skirt from Maria. One of her family had done the fine embroidered randa that creates a "cross" and hold the two panels together. While the color is a beautiful medium indigo blue, it is probably not naturally dyed. There are some fine white lines woven in the skirt for additional decorative design. The dimensions of the skirt is 19" (weft) by 28" x 2" = 56" (warp). The skirt is used, but in good condition.
