Nahuala  Small Woman or Girl's Morga --- Two-panel foot-loomed indigo morga (skirt) with hand-embroidered randa holding the panels together.  Worn by Mayan women in Nahuala, Guatemala the finally woven cotton skirt was probably woven in Nahuala or a neighboring town. It has decorative  white vertical stripes woven into the fabric. The fine embroidered randa that creates a "cross" and holds the two panels together. While the color is a beautiful medium indigo blue, it is probably not naturally dyed. There are some fine white lines woven in the skirt for additional decorative design.  The dimensions of the skirt is 32" (weft)  by 35" x 2" = 70" (warp).  The skirt  is used, but in good condition.
