San Juan La Laguna --- Unusual weave in this two-panel foot-loomed jaspe (ikat) skirt material probably made in Totonicapan to be worn by Mayan women in Juan La Laguna. Beautiful design with the narrow lines and jaspe colors. Bought from Josefa 2017. She said it was her grandmothers. It is of a style I haven't seen very often. The thread is primarily cotton with a few brillante (shiny) threads.
Dimensions: Skirt material is 31 wide (weft) by 106" long (warp). Weight: 3 lbs.
Condition: Material in good used condition. It is a piece of material that. is probably shorter in length than the original skirt. Pictures were taken in Wisconsin during winter. Don't have enough floor space picture entire skirt. If you would like to see additional pictures, before you buy contact me at lynn@terraexperience.com
