Indigo Jaspe Skirt -- Single-panel tube foot-loomed indigo jaspe (ikat) skirt material probably made in Totonicapan to be worn by Mayan women in a number of different villages.. Beautiful indigo and white designs with some subtle rose and yellow stripes. Skirt material made on a floor-loom. Material is cotton. A single embroidered multicolored randa makes the single piece of material a tube skirt.
Dimensions: Tube skirt material is 30" wide (weft) by 104"x2 =208" long (warp) (a very long length). Weight: 2.5 lbs
Condition: In generally good used condition. There is a slight line where the skirt was hemmed. The randa is somewhat worn and has a partial split from fabric (see picture). It could either be removed, or fairly easily repaired. Pictures were taken in Wisconsin during winter. Don't have enough floor space to picture entire skirt.
