Chichicastenago Woman's Huipil --- Serpents woven into the geometric design of and colors on this finely brocaded woman's huipil. Back-strap loomed, traditional 3-panel construction with rich reddish brown background (I am unsure if acrylic or cotton). Sun design embroidered round head hole as some brillante (shiny) thread.
Condition: Good used condition with a few loose threads and some light uneven fading/spotting (?) color along lower portion of two panels . Selvages on all panels with some looseness along bottom of several of the selvages. Side seams are open(could be easily sewn closed if preferred). As with many Chichicastenago huipils, there is some unevenness to the length of the panels. It could be hemmed to a even length, if desired.
