Chajul Woman's Huipil --- The huipils white background and purple designs give some of the feel of a ceremonial Chajul huipil. However the multicolored bird designs, modified sleeve design and nice velvet edging around the neck are not typical. Back-strap loomed, traditional 2-panel construction huipil. The huipil's soft base material has the feel of what Mayan women often call "Aleman" and is most likely a soft rayon thread.
Condition: Generally good used condition with a few loose threads, even wear and some spotting (especially on one sleeve - see picture). Selvages on all panels of fairly even lengths. Side seams are sewn closed with excess material removed (can't let out).
* Remember the huipil's width should be at least 1.5 to 2 times your shoulders width, to allow for fitting your frame and to cover part of your upper arms
