Chajul Woman's Huipil --- Zoomorphic double headed bird designs (or maybe butterflies or maybe both?) woven the brocade. Fun birds on the arm band. A number of threads have a bit of "brillante" including light blue/green, black, rose and dark green. Two-panel hupil hand-woven on a back-strap loom with a "Aleman" soft burgundy red base. Bought in 2013 from Ana Gaspar.
Condition: Good used condition with a few loose threads and even wear. Selvages on two panels somewhat uneven lengths. Other panel edges fringed with some reinforcement. Side seams are sewn closed.
* Remember the huipil's width should be at least 1.5 to 2 times your shoulders width, to allow for fitting your frame and to cover part of your upper arms
