San Antonio Aguas Caliente Woman's Huipil --- Colorful huipil of cotton base material in 2 back-strap loomed panels. The huipil has finely brocaded flowers squirrels, fish and fruit that appear equally fine on front and back side of the panel. This two-sided brocade is one of the reasons, San Antonio Aguas Caliente weaving is considered among the finest in Guatemala. You can slightly see an area where pleats have been let out.
Condition: Good used condition. The huipil shows some fading and wear and a few loose threads. Sides seams closed (could be easily opened to wear as a pancho). Panels combination of nice selvage finish on two sides and hemmed on the other.
