Huipil - Chichicastenango, Woman's H_CC_105

Chichicastenago Woman's Huipil ---   Subtle beautiful colors on this brocaded woman's huipil with flower designs. Back-strap loomed, traditional 3-panel construction with black background (I am unsure if acrylic or cotton).   Traditional sun design embroidered around head hole with nicely finished slit. Colorful randa between panels. 

Condition: Good used condition with a few loose threads. Selvages on all panels with some looseness along bottom of  several of the selvages. Side seams are open so can be worn as a poncho (could easily be sewn closed).  As with many Chichicasteango huipils, there is some unevenness to the length of the panels.  It could be hemmed to a even length, if desired.  

• Width:  32 inches
• Length:  17 - 30 inches
• Neck:  5 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep, 1 2.5" slit

* Remember the huipil's width should be at least 1.5 to 2 times your shoulders width, to allow for fitting your frame and to cover part of your upper arms.
