Patzun Morga - This black and white checked morga skirts are from an older tradition of handwoven skirts in Patzun Guatemala. Carmen Petterson paintings (published in her 1976 book) show this style worn with Patzun confradia huipils. The black and white morga style is still worn at times on ceremonial and festive occasions., Today in Patzun women wear for daily use various jaspe skirts that are non-village specific The black and white skirt material is hand-woven on a floor or treadle loom. The skirt has been opened, so it is a single piece of material 35" (weft) by 108". It is in good used conditions with only light wear along the selvages. Weight is 1.5 lbs.
