Corte - Indigo Morga Skirt from Nahuala Guatemala C_N_079

Nahuala Morga ---  This double-paneled tube skirt is a medium indigo blue, fine cotton fabric with decorative vertical light blue line designs in the weave.  The hand-embroidered tight multicolored randa cross holds the panels together  The cotton skirt material was made on a treadle loom or foot-loom probably in Nahuala or a neighboring town.  While the color is a beautiful indigo blue, it is probably a commercial dye. The dimensions of the skirt is  41" (weft)  by 50"x 2" = 100" long (warp). The used skirt in very good condition.  Weight:  about 1.4  lbs.  

Pictures show only about 1/4 of skirt material (when its cold in Wisconsin, hard to take pictures of the full skirt in my house)
