San Juan La Laguna --- Two-panel foot-loomed cotton jaspe (ikat) skirt material made in Totonicapan to be worn by Mayan women in Juan La Laguna. Beautiful design with the narrow lines and jaspe colors currently typical of San Juan La Laguna. The tube skirt material is 41" wide (weft) by 75"x 2" = 150" long (warp). The skirt is used, but in generally good condition. The exception is a 4" tear along the seam where the tube skirt is stitched together. The usable portion of the material length is about 148 with the tear. Bought from Josefa in 2012. Weight: 3.25 lbs.
