Corte - Multicolored Jaspe Tube Skirt from San Juan Laguna Guatemala C_MJ_17F
Terra Experience Collection
San Juan La Laguna --- Unusual weave in this two-panel foot-loomed jaspe (ikat) skirt material probably made in Totonicapan to be worn by Mayan women in Juan La Laguna. Beautiful design with the narrow lines and jaspe colors. Bought from Josefa 2017. She said it was her grandmothers. It is of a style I haven't seen very often. The thread is cotton.
Dimensions: Skirt material is 32 +5" = 37" wide (weft) by 76" long (warp). Weight: 2 lbs.
Condition: Material in good used condition. I believe this material was twice as long when it was a skirt. Pictures were taken in Wisconsin during winter. Don't have enough floor space to picture entire skirt. If you would like to see additional pictures, before you buy contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
