Chajul Woman's Huipil --- Serpent birds (horses?) are brocaded into the striking colorful geometric design on this comfortable woman's huipil. Back-strap loomed, traditional 2-panel construction with a medium chocolate or coffee brown background. The huipil's soft base material has the feel of what Mayan women often call "Aleman" and is most likely a soft rayon thread.
Condition: Good used condition with a few loose threads and even wear. Selvages somewhat uneven lengths. Two panel selvages have reinforced with threads. Side seams are sewn closed.
* Remember the huipil's width should be at least 1.5 to 2 times your shoulders width, to allow for fitting your frame and to cover part of your upper arms.
