Chichicastenago Woman's Huipil --- Striking geometric design and colors on this finely woven, brocaded woman's huipil. Back-strap loomed, traditional 3-panel construction with unusual festive darker red background. Sun design embroidered around head hole made of thread the women call lustistrina (silk-like).
Condition: Very good used condition with a few loose threads. Well finished selvages on all panels with some looseness along bottom of several of the selvages. Side seams are open (could be easily sewn together. Unlike many Chichicastenago huipils the length of the panels is fairly even.
