Chichicastenago Woman's Huipil ---   Striking geometric design and colors on this brocaded woman's huipil. Back-strap loomed, traditional 3-panel construction with brown background (I am unsure if acrylic or cotton).   Sun design embroidered around head hole. Embroidered randa between panels. 

Condition: Good used condition with a few loose threads. Selvages on all panels with some looseness along bottom of  several of the selvages. Side seams are open (could be easily sewn closed if preferred.  As with many Chichicastenago huipils, there is some unevenness to the length of the panels .  It could be hemmed to a even length, if desired.  Huipil fits over my 22" diameter head.

  • Neck:  6 inches wide by 2.2 inches deep

* Remember the huipil's width should be at least 1.5 to 2 times your shoulders width, to allow for fitting your frame and to cover part of your upper arms.
