Quetzaltenango (Xela) Guatemala Woman's Huipil --- This Xela huipil is beautifully brocaded with stars and other geometric patterns on a floor loom. The two randa stripes down the front are are finely embroidered and typical of Quetzaltenago Huipils. Neckline is finished and has nice hand embroidered flowers bordering it. Base material is cotton and likely some other mixed threads. I am not sure if it is woven in Xela or another village for finishing and use in Xela.
Condition: Good used condition. The huipil shows light wear, a few loose threads and light even graying. Sides seams open (could be easily sown closed).
