Santa Catarina Palopo Woman's Huipil --- Butterflies, tree of life, corn and various birds on this nicely brocaded huipil that was made on a back-strap loom. The medium blue huipil has 3 panels. Nice unusual trim around the neck and arm holes.
Bought from Lucia 2017.
Condition: Good used condition. The huipil shows light fading and wear and a few loose threads. Sides seams closed (could be easily opened to wear as a pancho). Half of the panels are fringed others are selvage finished with a long loop that creates a feel similar to the fringe. As with many Santa Catarina Palopo huipils, there is some uneveness to the length of the panels. It could be hemmed to a even length, if desired..

- Width: 31 inches
- Length: 20-22 inches
- Neck: 6.5 inches wide by 3 inches deep. Just fits over my 22" head.
* Remember the huipil's width should be at least 1.5 to 2 times your shoulders width, to allow for fitting your frame and to cover part of your upper arms.
