Santiago Atitlan Girls's Huipil --- Beautifully embroidered Mayan figures and flowers embroidered on this Santiago Atitlan Small Woman's or Girls Huipil. Don't find these type of figures very often embroidered between small squares created by the vertical stripes of base cloth and brocaded horizontal line.Takes alot of work to create. Lavendar base material hand-woven on backstrap loom with thin darker lavendar vertical stripes. Sides seams are open (could easily be sewn closed). Two of the bottom panel are fine selvage finished, the other two are hemmed.
Bought from Antonio in 2017. She said made by and worn by her family.
Condition: Moderately good used condition. The huipil shows some wear, a few loose threads and light spotting and greying. Neck is finished, but could be finer. Otherwise in good condition for a girls used huipil.
Width: 18 inches
Length: 16 inches
Neck: 4 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep.

* Remember the huipil's width should be at least 1.5 to 2 times your shoulders width, to allow for fitting your frame and to cover part of your upper arms.
