Corte - Indigo Morga Skirt from Nahuala Guatemala C_N_065

Nahuala Morga ---  This tube skirt is a dark indigo blue, fine cotton fabric with  several simple white line designs in the weave. I bought the skirt from Maria in 2012. One of her family hand-embroidered beautiful tight narrow randa cross (colors purple, lavender blue and medium green) that holds the panels together.  The cotton skirt material was made on a treadle loom or foot-loom probably in Nahuala or a neighboring town.  While the color is a beautiful dark indigo blue, it is probably a commercial dye. The dimensions of the skirt is 40" wide (weft)  by 48"x 2" = 96" long (warp). The used skirt is in very good condition.  Weight: 1.3 lbs.
