Quetzaltenango (Xela) Guatemala Woman's Huipil --- Striking tangerine and orange shades on this daily use single-panel huipil from Xela (pleated to appear like traditional 3-panel huipil). The two randas of stripes down the front and decoration around the neck are typical of Quetzaltenago. The flowers are nicely done and are machine embroidered. Nice black "velvet" trim around shoulders.
Condition: Good to very good used condition. The huipil shows light wear and a few loose threads. Th lower white base portion of the huipil shows some even discoloration and graying. Sides seams open (could be easily sown closed) Panels hemmed.
Width: 30 inches shoulders, 18.5 waist
Neck: 6.5 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep . Style: oval
Weight: Approx 1.2 pounds
* Remember the huipil's width should be at least 1.5 to 2 times your shoulders width, to allow for fitting your frame and to cover part of your upper arms.
