Quetzaltenango (Xela) Guatemala Woman's Huipil --- Gold, grey and other autumn shades on this daily use single-panel huipil from Xela (pleated to appear like traditional 3-panel huipil). Material is primarily cotton and very nicely woven on a floor loom in Totonicapan area for use by Quetzaltenago Mayan Women. The two randas of stripes down the front are typical of Quetzaltenago. Neckline has been nicely and simply fined with combination of crotchet and embroidery
Condition: Good used condition. The huipil shows light wear and a few loose threads. The lower white base portion of the huipil shows some light even graying. Sides seams open (could be easily sown closed). Panels are hemmed.
